In an effort to assist with evaluation, we have added two mini courses.

This is for all law enforcement and associated agencies who grade information using 5x5x5.

This system was brought into use in the UK on 31st March 2016. This is for all law enforcement and associated agencies who grade information using 5x5x5.

This is an introductory course in Intelligence Analysis. The course presents material which describes the process of intelligence analysis at a basic level. The role of the analyst and analysis is reviewed and the analysis process is examined. Some of the tools which analysts use are also introduced.

NOTE: This is a foundation course and it is a requirement that you successfully complete this course before you move on to the level 2 or 3 courses

This course follows on from the introductory course and promotes a deeper understanding about intelligence analysis processes and techniques - including charting methods, logical thinking and hypothesis development. The first half of this course examines some important intelligence analysis techniques used by analysts to help make sense of information. NOTE: You will need to complete the basic course before you can sign-on for this intermediate course.

The aim of this module is to introduce the student to the conventions that will be used in the flow charting techniques used in crime and intelligence analysis.

This course is suitable for those engaged in, or looking towards the role of Strategic Analyst, ideally with some experience of crime or intelligence analysis.

It is assumed that the student will have some basic understanding of analysis and analytical techniques. This course, as with the CI-02, is a natural follow on from our Intelligence Analysis - Level 1 (Basic CI-01) course.

The techniques examined are transferable to other organisations and include negotiating terms of reference, highlighting Key Judgements and much more.

The course presents material which describes the process of constructing a Strategic Assessment, with reference to the part the Analyst and Strategic Analysis play’s in that process. It guides the student through the UK National Intelligence Model and the Strategic Assessments relationship with the model. The key techniques in constructing a Strategic Assessment are examined and opportunities given to practicing some of the techniques.

Taking its lead from the UK Association of Chief Police Officers, (ACPO), this module is designed to enhance the delegates decision making process so that the mission of policing is delivered with improved emphasis on the values of the organisation.

On 31st March 2016, UK policing changed the Information Evaluation system from 5x5x5 to 3x5x2. There is to be NO BACK RECORD CONVERSION. This course has been designed to train usage of the 3x5x2 system and also relate back to the 5x5x5
