This course is suitable for those engaged in, or looking towards the role of Strategic Analyst, ideally with some experience of crime or intelligence analysis.
It is assumed that the student will have some basic understanding of analysis and analytical techniques. This course, as with the CI-02, is a natural follow on from our Intelligence Analysis - Level 1 (Basic CI-01) course.
The techniques examined are transferable to other organisations and include negotiating terms of reference, highlighting Key Judgements and much more.
The course presents material which describes the process of constructing a Strategic Assessment, with reference to the part the Analyst and Strategic Analysis play’s in that process. It guides the student through the UK National Intelligence Model and the Strategic Assessments relationship with the model. The key techniques in constructing a Strategic Assessment are examined and opportunities given to practicing some of the techniques.
